As a Hudson Valley Wedding Planner, I have my favorite venues. Glynwood Farm is certainly one of those, and Haley and David’s summer Glynwood Farm will live in my heart for a very long time. Take a journey back with me, courtesy of these gorgeous images by Trent Bailey.
Glynwood Farm: The Perfect Hudson Valley Wedding Venue
If you’re looking for the perfect Hudson Valley Wedding Venue, in my opinion as a Hudson Valley Wedding Planner, you can do no better than Glynwood Farm. Located in Cold Spring, NY, Glynwood is a working farm that hosts a limited number of weddings each year (spoiler alert – they sell out fast!). The grounds feature sprawling farm-scapes, a boathouse situated on a lake (perfect for a rehearsal dinner), manicured gardens and gorgeous spots to set tents for weddings of all sizes.
Haley & David were drawn to Glynwood for those reasons and more. In addition to the gorgeous grounds and local food focus, Glynwood can house almost 40 guests on the property for the weekend, so they were able to spend all kinds of time with their families and wedding parties across their summer wedding weekend. The Metro North train station is a short drive away, and the area features an array of lodging options, from boutique hotels to AirBnbs to chain hotels, making it the perfect upstate wedding weekend destination.
Rain Plans & Pivots
Despite the fact that the weather was not entirely on our side (there was a good amount of rain over the weekend), nothing was going to stop us having a great time. We set up rain scenario tents for the ceremony and cocktail hour and deployed a plethora of umbrellas for guests to move between spaces. And when a thunderstorm dropped a tree blocking the only entrance to the property that buses could access, we pivoted, had guests drive themselves to the properties in their cars, and secured buses that could bring them back to the property to collect their cars the next morning at brunch.
The Design: Nancy Meyers in the Hudson Valley
When we started the design process, the concept was a modern, Nancy-Meyers-esque garden party. Think cozy nooks, home-y details, striking colors, and fresh-from-the-garden florals. How this design came together will live rent-free in my mind for years to come. Some of my favorite features included a color-blocked floral aisle, comprised of baskets of flowers and grasses all the way up to the chuppah by our friends at Athabold.
Hudson Valley Farm-to-Table Wedding Food
One of Haley & David’s biggest priorities for their wedding was FOOD. Haley is a food blogger, so suffice it to say the food HAD to be incredible. Enter: Fig & Pig, who provided an array of delectable stations and bites in cocktail hour, and a true, local, family-style feast for dinner. And it was all topped off by a large berry-covered cake from Lulu Cake Boutique.
The Reception
After the gorgeous floral-filled ceremony and delectable array of cocktail hour foods were enjoyed, it was on to the reception tent. Guests entered the sail-cloth tent with a clean wood floor from Columbia Tents, accented with hanging greenery, rattan pendants and edison bulbs. The tables were set for a vibrant family-style feast, featuring subtle-textured place settings, illustrated menu cards from Stephanie Tara Stationery and an array of vibrant, summery florals.
Dancing the Night Away
In addition to the food, the designs and bringing all of their favorite people together, Haley and David prioritized FUN. The Dane Wright Band delivered a jam-packed dance floor all night long.
